Acacia Seeds
If you live in the Mediterranean, you probably growing a few Acacia species, but this huge genus has really a lot more to offer than what you can imagine. This year I'm offering a big selection of them, mostly species I find the most interesting and unusual when it comes to either leaves, habit or flowers. Some are ground covering shrubs, some bigger shrubs, and many are small to big trees. You should probably do your own search to see what suits you best, but most are well adaptable to our Mediterranean area. All germinate and grow fast, once you have scarified or placed seeds in warm water overnight before sowing. Come join the Acacia madness!!!
Listings in green are new or returning for 2026.

I know it is hard to select one favorite Acacia, but if I had to, this would be it for sure. With the common name Palo Blanco in southern USA and Mexico, the white, papery, peeling bark of this species is the most impressive thing your dry garden can have. In addition, the beautiful airy foliage and the lemon yellow winter flowers add to the overall beauty of this species. I call it the desert birch, due to its resemblance to a birch tree. As with all Acacias you should soak the seed in luke warm water for 12 hours before sowing (don't leave this in the water too much or it will rot easily).
